Eco-Hotel Mundaka came out of the restoration of a historic building in the centre of the old fishing village. It is a family project, with nineteen rooms, reception open around the clock and covered parking, three hundred metres from the beach.

Pets are welcome, there is a lift, and breakfast is an organic buffet with what the kitchen garden grows.

Nineteen rooms, four types

Single, double, triple and family. Every one of them has a private bathroom with a hairdryer, satellite television, a telephone, free wi-fi and heating. The furniture was renewed in 2011 and the textiles in 2014 and 2015; the rooms facing the street have double glazing so you hear nothing.

The wave, and who teaches you

The Mundaka left-hander is held to be the best in Europe and one of the ten best in the world. It breaks a hundred metres from the hotel.

Its height, its surfable length and its breaking angle make it a perfect wave for advanced surfers. Study by the AZTI Tecnalia technology centre

The surf school belongs to the hotel. Lessons are given by Mike Dobos, a qualified American instructor with more than twenty-eight years behind him. From eight years old and for every level: board, wetsuit, insurance and certificate are included. You only need to be able to swim.

Getting here

Reception is open twenty-four hours, so arrival time is never a problem.
